Fresh Breath Tips
- Brush your teeth at least twice a day with a non-foaming toothpaste such as RetarDEX, clinically proven to eliminate bad breath.
- Clean between the teeth every day with floss and/or an interdental brush or stick like Denti-Brush and Denti-Styx. These areas are a common place for trapped food and bacteria to rot and cause tooth decay or bad breath.
- Gently cleanse the tongue with a tongue cleanser, such as the OOLITT eXcel, which is designed to comfortably reach the back of the mouth. 80% of bad breath comes from the surface of the tongue and particularly the back area.
- Gargle with an alcohol-free, antibacterial oral rinse, such as RetarDEX, to clean as far back down the throat as possible.
- Chew sugar-free gum in-between meals to increase the saliva flow, which helps to reduce the incidence of bad breath.
- Use an oral spray, such as RetarDEX, designed to eliminate bad breath.
- Avoid over-indulging in spicy foods, garlic and onion.
- Reduce the consumption of coffee, tea and alcohol, all of which have a drying effect on the mouth.
- Visit your Dentist and/or Hygienist regularly. Bad breath can be an indicator that there is a problem with the gums, such as gingivitis or periodontitis.
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep the mouth moist.
